The following FAQ has been prepared by the Paragon Green to help address some questions consumers might have when preparing electronics for recycling. These tips are for guidance only.



    What items are being accepted at the events?
    TVs (all sizes and models), Computers, Monitors, Printers, Cell phones and related accessories. Don’t forget to bring along all the unused cables too!

    Do you erase or destroy the information on my computer hard drive?
    It is your responsibility to remove information on the hard drive. The following suggestions provide some options to help you prepare your computers:

Is there any limit to the quantity of items we can bring to a recycling event? There are no limits on computer equipment however, if you are a business with more than 20 large items please schedule an appointment time for when we can expect you at the collection event. The only businesses we do not take quantities from are TV repair businesses.  Please for more information.

Do you have a service that will pick up my television(s) and computers? No, we do not offer a home collection service presently. Paragon Green and our recycling CCR are working a new program that should be available in spring 2009 where we can pick up from your address – there will be a collection fee associated with this service (apron $20-$25 per address).

If you are a business, school or Government organization with large quantities of used electronics - we can arrange a separate collection to suit your schedule. Contact us for more information.

Can I come to the event and buy some of the items you get from other residents? No – the collection events are hosted for residential households to bring their e-waste  – not for re-sale of any items.

    Do you sell used computer equipment? Yes, but we only sell wholesale to resellers or corporations. You can purchase from our recycling partner via E-Bay. We do not have a retail store. 

    Can we bring our old console TV in for recycling? Yes, If you come to one of our FREE collection events listed, there will be no charge. If you choose to bring your TV to a Permanent Drop Off (PDO) location there may be a charge. 

    Do you export items like in that recycler did in that 60 Minutes show? No. We do not export hazardous material. Click here to read our policy on e-waste exports.

    Can I get a tax write off receipt? No, we are not a 501C3 (non-profit business) – the free collection events are NOT donation events but recycling events.

    I can’t make a scheduled free collection events, where can I drop off my electronics for recycling? Our recycling partner is responsible for a number of municipal drop off locations. Click here to find a PDO location near you.

Can I bring my old washing machine in for recycling? 
No, we do not accept appliances at these events. The following products are also NOT accepted: Air Conditioners, Ballasts, De-humidifiers,  Dishwashers,  Dryers,  Exit Signs, Fluorescent Bulbs,  Liquids, Stoves, Refrigerators, Thermostats, Washers etc.

    How many items do I need to have in order to schedule a pick up? We pickup from schools, corporations and many other organizations, and we require a minimum quantity of 3 skids of equipment. (1skid fits = apron 50 computers fit or 35-45 monitors).

    Where are your warehouses for drop offs? Our recycling partner has warehouse locations in Michigan and Illinois. Our warehouse locations accept items for recycling by appointment only. Contact us for more information.
